Defending Rule of Law
Autocracy forms when the rule of law disappears. We work tirelessly to hold wrongdoers accountable. Often that means suing bad actors – including the government itself – on behalf of the American people and the individuals directly harmed by policies that undermine democracy and violate the constitution.
Fighting Corruption
Corruption fuels authoritarianism, transforming public institutions into tools for personal gain and consolidating power in the hands of a privileged few.

We go on offense working to expose and fight against corruption. Through FOIA requests and public records investigations, we shine a light on abuses of power. With systemic reforms and litigation, we challenge conflicts of interest and unethical practices to achieve a more transparent government.
Protecting Elections
Democracy relies on free and fair elections. Election subversion is on the rise —from attempts to throw out ballots, discredit results, and manipulate electoral outcomes. These attacks aim to destabilize our democratic process and sow public distrust.​

We work across party lines to combat these threats through collaborating with community-led state and local partners, funding critical efforts on the ground to protect elections, and running bespoke campaigns designed to defeat efforts to undermine confidence in elections. Alongside bipartisan coalitions and subject-matter experts, we also litigate voter intimidation cases, advocate for transparent vote counting, and defend the certification process.
Project 2025 Admin Resource
Democracy Defenders Action joined other democracy watchdog groups, American Oversight and Court Accountability Action, to launch Project 2025 Administration, a comprehensive resource that identifies and maps the dozens of potential key appointees across offices and agencies – and areas of influence – in a possible second Trump administration.
